About me

Thank you for visiting my site. This space was created out of necessity in early 2019; faced with an upcoming move to Northern California and accompanying job search, I needed a platform to showcase all things me.
I was born in North Carolina, raised in Florida, Texas transplant, and as of spring 2019: North Bay resident.
My first college major was music performance. I played the horn and aspired to be a professional musician in an American orchestra.
I love to write, and I love to design. I hope my next venture allows me to do both. Regardless of my career, these are two areas I will cultivate in whatever ways I can.
Oxford comma, all the way.
I have learned everything I know about design and content creation through trial and error and Google. One day I hope to pursue formal graphic design education.
I began working at the American Red Cross North Texas in August 2017. Ten days later, Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas Gulf coast; the good, the bad, and the very ugly quickly ensued. It was baptism by fire at an organization that is committed to helping others - no matter what. I was hooked, and still am.
I earned my 200-hr yoga teacher certification through Yoga Alliance in 2013 in Dallas. I had no desire to teach (and still don’t), but wanted to learn more about the practice and strengthen my own. For several years, I was a yoga assistant. I thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on nature of this role, and the intimate interaction with others’ practices that it afforded me. I can see myself taking on this role again at some point.
Hobbies include hiking, yoga, coffee, and dogs. I am currently dogless, but hope to change that once settled in CA. I have three parakeets and I’m a dog sitter extraordinaire.
